John Lomax – Founder and President of Lomax Construction and Lomax Properties, is a native of Greensboro, North Carolina and graduate of Eastern Carolina University. After spending twelve years as the Vice President of H.M. Kern Corporation, John ventured on his own and established Lomax Construction, Inc. in July of 1996.
In 2000, John became very active with the revitalization of downtown Greensboro and began acquiring a portfolio of historic buildings with the first of the acquisitions being the historic Kress building on Elm Street. This acquisition was not only a turning point for downtown, but sparked a desire in John to acquire, renovate and develop real estate for himself as well as others.
John is also well known for his community involvement as well as his philanthropic interests having served on more than fourteen different boards over the years. He has also won many awards that include the Triad Business Ethics Award, Best Places to Work, and SBA Small Business Person of the Year, just to name a few.
One of his personal passions is supporting learning opportunities for students through the creation of foundations and apprenticeships instilling knowledge and work ethic in our youth.
